MVB was born on 12/5/1782, 6.5 years after the Declaration of Independence. All of MVB’s predecessors were born in British colonies as was MVB’s successor, William Henry Harrison. All of WHH’s successors were born after 7/4/1776. MVB is also the only President to speak English as his second language, having grown up speaking Dutch.
