ding, ding, ding, correct!

Bee’s North Carolina brigade was being routed at the first Battle of Manassas. Thomas Jonathan Jackson’s Virginians were next to Bee’s troops and faring much better. In an attempt to rally his troops, Bee shouted, “There is Jackson standing like a stone wall!” Bee died the next day from a stomach wound. There is some controversy about whether Bee was complimenting Jackson or complaining about Jackson. Most historians believe Bee’s comment to have been a compliment.
