Landman would have been just fine with barely any wife and daughter, just enough to establish they exist and BBT has to cope with them broadly. It's a compelling setting about a profession and lifestyle and BBT is great, as usual. That's enough for a good show. I'm fine with the female lawyer. He needs a foil and the show needs a different perspective. She's a trope, in that her harda-- outlook will slowly change as she spends time with BBT and realizes how that life works. But I'd prefer she was a harda-- even if she is inconsistent, to another floozy.
