Yep, just did it this past Thur-Sat, well, from BWI that is...

which is 20 minutes from my house. Everything you said, no security lines, walk maybe 50 yards from parking to the track, drops you off in mid-town Manhattan, even got it worked out that when I take my ten minute walk to the hotel I go past Liberty and/or Best bagels on the way. Agree with you on seats though, Coach was booked last week, not a problem, still better than a plane, but I've got the money need to spend it, and yeah, nice to know a particular seat has your name on it rather than dealing w/people w/crap in the other seat. You can get really cheap seats in coach though so not sure I'd call the difference minimal, but yeah, cheap certainly compared to flying. Philly's like halfway for me so roughly hour and a half maybe another 20 minutes to DC Union.
