Have you heard of anyone recovering funds that were scammed?

I realize every data point in this is anecdotal, but am just curious. Can RE firms and RE attorneys trust the FBI and/or banking institution fraud departments to nab any hackers and somehow, miraculously, recover the stolen $$ ?
