or maybe he's just lying because his whole life he got away with it?

sometimes the simple answers are the right ones. He told that to the judge, just like he told his parents (or his nanny more likely) that the pot in his backpack wasn't his and the coke in his console was planted by the cops that searched his car, etc, etc. That likely worked for him his whole life either because his parents would rather not deal with it (they pay others to do that) or the cops drop the charges when the parents lawyer shows up and starts threatening suits (easier to drop the charges against the little **** than fight a battle you can't win). Why stop now... I don't know how that money got there, Judge, it must have been planted.
