It was for me but the internet and social media have kinda taken over. He is taking all AP classes so there is that. I have also tried to emphasize learning about other countries/cultures. We have done trips to Europe, Asia and Africa. So he is seeing things. This is all somewhat second nature to me. We lived in multiple countries when I was growing up including the USSR in the 60s. My dad was career Foreign Service and on the SALT negotiating team. Lots of great stories. Not this summer, but next I’m hoping that my son will get a national security grant/experience to study mandarin in China. Want him to understand the world as best he can.
