avid hunter. Both sides of the family (boys, girls, men and women) knew how to handle firearms. I was taught at a very young age that guns aren't toys. Respect them and don't play with them. Treat every gun as though it's loaded.
When I was 11 yo Dad got me a .22 Mag/.410 Savage over/under...Great gun that my grandnephew has now.
Dad wasn't much of a pistol man but I certainly am. My wife and I have rifles but we love our hand guns.
