Stachybotrys. Known as "black mold," can produce mycotoxins. So what?
Home inspectors are taught to observe and report on organic fungal matter, but not to remediate it. We can do tests to show a homeowner - "Look, You got some!" but somebody else has to get rid of it.
TSO & I fight that in our humid summer, no differently than any other climate or geographical area. We have encountered a really feisty bunch of it in our shower that defies common household remedies, even Zep. A few weeks ago, I thought Zep was going to work. Nope.
A woman TSO used to work with is now with a company in Newton NC north of us and their mad chemist CEO has created a line of products that they guarantee will fight and eliminate the black mold. Another that seals the grout to prevent future growth.
I just mixed a batch of the cleaner and sprayed it on stubborn, impenetrable mold and the mold disappeared in minutes. Totally gone, not just bleached (bleach, I was taught, doesn't work on mold).
Got mold? Try this stuff. (no, I'm not a SuperStratum commission rep)
