Also a good idea to never leave anything in your car "in view" of...

...anyone walking by. If I'm doing a little Christmas shopping at the mall and take gifts out to my car, I'll typically leave that spot and drive to the other side of the mall before going in for more shopping. If you stay in the same parking spot, thieves may see you put items into your trunk and pop it as soon as you walk back inside. That was when I did a lot of Mall shopping...Amazon or other "online" retailers are my first choice now.
