No. Pretty sure that allows insurance company to deny coverage. But
I do leave the house unlocked all the time. If I’m home, the Ring cameras will alert me in time to grab necessary armaments. If not, I’d rather not have to deal with the destruction of the break in. I have pics and a good inventory of the stuff likely to be stolen. Stuff can be easily replaced.
This plan started at my last abode, a house built in the 1860’s. It had large leaded glass windows that would be very difficult to replace. And a huge, heavy, hand made front door that would definitely be very hard to replace plus it would no longer be original equipment. And it had an antique brass lock with a huge key that would be a pain to carry.
So, take my stuff if I’m not home. But if I am home, the cops may wonder how the intruder fell on the log splitter with a non fatal gunshot wound and the damned thing started on its own resulting in two half intruders.
