No, nor do I leave a garage door remote in the car parked in the driveway

learned a rule when I was young, a lock keeps an honest thief honest. If you look at things through that lens, most crime is opportunity based, so, if you make your stuff more difficult or time consuming to steal than others, chances are you will be passed by more often than not. Remember the club? Could be defeated with a hack saw in about 30 secs, but that was 30 secs longer than the car next to it without one, so it was highly effective. Kind of like always going wilderness camping with a fat guy, or at least one you can outrun, because you don't have to outrun the bear, just your buddy.
