is insane. That place is like a resort. Forget sending my daughter to college there...I want to go there. Dorms are like nice hotel rooms, all the buildings are modern and upscale with grand entrances and chandeliers, labs and classrooms are very nice and new, food was delicious....they have 3 upscale restaurants (Mediterranean, Steakhouse, and Japanese) that are included as part of the meal plan (limit once a week....parents can eat for $65), fountains and firepits everywhere. Just everything you could think of, they have it. It's now jumped to #1 on my daughters list of schools. And like they say on their website, parents number 1 question when they take the tour is, "When can I move in?" Davidson....meh. I get that the have high academic standards and that's clearly what they hang their hat on. Nothing really impressive on the campus tour. Food options, even according to our tour guide, kinda suck and are the same every day. Old buildings...they wouldn't show us a dorm...but this is what really worried me: I asked about male and female dorms and he said it's kinda random. Some dorms are mixed. But then....then...he said to us parents and students something like this: "There is an option if you request it to stay in a (not his exact wording) drug and alcohol free dorm...you know, if that's not something you want to be around....but you know, it is college and students like to have fun." WTF?
