The numbers are meaningless ...
remember during COVID when you would see 'positive tests' vs 'cases' - these are two distinctly different numbers because many people had to test multiple times in order to return to work/school/etc. You also had hospitalizations and fatalities that were reported as COVID when they were 'with COVID' and not 'FROM COVID'. Everyone on both sides of every issue can twist numbers the way they want them to look. Look at the oil production discussions now. They are saying we are 'producing more oil than we did when the administration started'. That is actually kind of true but what they don't mention is that nothing was open in January of 2021 so demand was extremely low. They also don't mention that they are including the 400 million barrels released from the SPRO in their 'production' numbers and that is EXTREMELY misleading. We are actually producing far less oil domestically than we were before the pandemic and that is an inarguable fact.
Numbers are whatever people need them to be and the ones in the OP are also extremely misleading.
