Don't look down!
I've snorkeled and dove where I looked over into the abyss, and my initial thought was "oh crap, I'm going to fall off a cliff." Then I realized I'm floating in water, and I'm not going down unless I make that effort. But it's very disconcerting when you float across the boundary where it drops off like that.
