By late night do you mean early morning? I 100% agree on location for

April/May. Some of my best fishing has come around 3:30/4:30 in the A.M. I have caught many sitting at the mouth of the last cove on the left side facing the dam or maybe couple hundred feet to the right. I do use live bait more often than not. I did catch a 12 pound hybrid but it was in the marina at the state park. Back then the state record was closer to 13 pounds I believe. Nothing like the sound of a hybrid or striper busting the water and landing on thier side. We always called it a shotgun going off.
