little me follow-up...

wow, how weird not to go over today at 3:30. I knew absolutely I didn't have to but the other part of my mind was expecting a call "where the heck are you" like I was screwing up. I need to leave!!! Breaking habits has its own logic. immediate benefit is saving 150 miles and four hours a week driving on the DC beltway, Been one of those frustrating things that I can't seem to get away from driving back and forth on 95 on the beltway Not trivial either it was about this time last year in April my last car was totalled. Hopefully, other than occasional travel (Like going to the 'burg) that will end forever. Benefit two is that my time is entirely mine now. never been here before with retirement and no longer taking care of my dad, (granted, there is taking care of his affairs) I could take a month long roadtrip if I desired. Of course, I better build a new routine soon. Benefit 2 1/2 is I can schedule things out now in my tennis leagues I could only schedule my availability. as 50% of the dates, Just went back and listed all of them default = available for now. Plan a trip to Michigan later this summer or fall. Been to 49 other states, last one. Anyway, I have money and I have time but I don't have forever. (ooh, not bad eh?) I can now make it down to the 'burg and not have to be back anymore. music festivals etc. Even can think about moving back to Virginia now. Anyway mind's all abuzz. Definitely a day one of the rest of my life. ** Edited by `lag at 4/12/2026, 9:07:23 PM ** Edited by `lag at 4/13/2026, 10:14:22 AM
