He knew all those folks at the Post especially Povich and Boswell. Dad is mostly known for covering the Senators and the Caps but he also covered the Redskins and the Bullets. As a little kid I would on occasion hang out at the old Washington Star building in the sports room. If the Caps were playing a home game on Fri or Sat night in Landover in the late 70's then I would usually tag along with my Dad and brother to the games and hang out in the press room till the wee hours of the night with all the writers. We would also from time to time have those writers over at the house for dinner or we would go over to their place for dinner.
