Especially given it was my first time organizing field day for my elementary school and the fact that it was in the low 50s and rainy and I had to readjust my plans and move everything inside. Kids loved the games I came up with and so did my parent volunteers and teachers. I got many kind words and emails from parents. Everyone was also impressed that I used QR codes and each station with links to videos on how to play the games. I of course can't take all the credit. I had a great assistant teacher at school and a parent help me organize the 100 parent volunteers. So that took a huge weight off me. 2. Field day is exhausting. I didn't sit down from the moment I got to school at 7am until I had cleaned up and left at 6pm. I came home, made dinner, had a beer and ate and just sat in the quiet....until 3. Our two dogs absolutely love wrestling. They were so happy I was home that for an hour straight they wrestled on the bed where I was sitting. Love these dogs but my goodness they are full of energy when I get home. 4. Was woken at 5am to the thumping of music somewhere nearby. I live near Home Depot and apparently someone (probably and employee) was sitting in their car pumping out some music. After 30 minutes I finally called the police. I listed to the scanner since I couldn't sleep and 10 min later they were on scene, ran the plates, and turned out the guy had a warrant and was arrested. Stupid idiot. Now I'm finally awake after a few more hours of sleep...have my coffee...and feel good that there's only 4 more days of school left.
