Yes. I got my first one after I was following a landscaping truck hauling
brush. A large stick blew off and I cut the wheel fast to keep it from going through my windshield, it tore off my side mirror. I complained to the cops who just said I was SOL because under the law they have so much plausible deniability. So i started using a dash cam. Years later I got behind a gravel truck spilling gravel and dinging up my hood. I used my cam footage to get the company to pay for the damage.
