Is "retained" the bad contracts that were eaten?

If so, take the Mets number with a pinch of salt, because they spent $87.7 million on players who don't play for them. Also, crazy that the Braves are No. 6 in payroll, but only No. 3 in their own division. Also, wow Angles...$172 payroll, and $108 million of it on the injured list. ** Edited by Chris Coleman at 10/31/2024, 9:57:15 AM

When a team spends over $300M on payroll and doesn't win, it's FAILURE
