The handheld POS is becoming a very standard thing in the industry

I'm working on a project where one of them is being rolled out at all of our properties nationwide that have food service (hotel industry). There are a lot of advantages including security (card not being taken away by staff), fraud prevention (tips not being entered into the system by staff from the written receipt), and time (not having to go back and forth to the POS). In addition, there are big efficiency benefits in the back of house (kitchen) as well. The standard for tip calculation is food and beverage total before tax and fees. However, these systems are configurable so the outlet can set it to calculate it however they want so always be sure to check it, especially if they are charging a fee for credit card use and you want to pay cash to avoid it.
