Movie theatre usher; we would get shot today

Even back in the early 80s, we were one of the last theatres to have ushers who actually warned people and then threw them out for smoking or bringing in a lot of beer. Usually someone else in the theatre would complain, but sometimes we spotted it (smelled, heard etc.). And we, all of 16-17 years old dressed like penguins, would walk up to the violators and tell them to leave - and they would! Very rarely we would get a threat, but mostly they knew they did wrong and were caught. I would never try to do that today, even if ushers still existed. Anyway, saw a lot of free movies, ate a lot of free popcorn. ** Edited by WestyHokie at 7/30/2024, 4:21:33 PM
