I'd vote pellet, I have a camp chef dlx that's about 7 years old. Had to
Replace the "motherboard" aka dial and read outs as it crapped out but otherwise it's pretty good. So maybe trager is better at maintaining temperature, not sure but I monitor my temperature on camp chef with another thermometer as the camp chef thermometer doesn't seem to be within 20 degrees of real temp.
