If they're at Tech, Blacksburg in the summer is glorious. My oldest is...

wrapping up middle school this year so too early to tell but I'm hoping I'll both still want him to hang around when he's that age but also would encourage him to explore new things at his college/university if he wants to. From my memory, that dynamic changed for me throughout college. After freshmen year, coming home was good because I was still very close to high school friends and getting to reconnect was very important. I still have a bunch of those relationships, but the ones made in college gradually moved to the forefront so staying in town for the summer was better for me.
