Yep, doing that right now. It's been going well. She likes doing what

she does, and given that she didn't work for a very long time, well, I would get smacked for that comment, she worked raising the kids and that was a lot of work, but when she got back into the workforce after the kids were grown, she needed a few years of higher income for social security benefits to be a lot higher. In a sense she's working for current benefits, health insurance, dental, vision, those things I busted my ass for about 35 years, and for her future benefits of higher retirement income from Uncle Sam. Also, she needed a few more years to vest in her retirement plan, too. I still do some self-employment type stuff, but I certainly don't try to set the world on fire or show off, just enough to not start tapping retirement savings, because I'm not even social security eligible yet. The best advice I got from a friend who was also in the same situation, was to get your ass out of bed in the morning when she does, and at least be somewhat productive until she leaves the house 🤣 and it really does make a difference. If you sleep in till 10:00 everyday, things might get off to a rocky start.
