TSL podcast team - Much respect
Thanks for finally saying the quiet part out loud today on the TSL podcast regarding VT football and Athletics department leadership. Much respect, as that is how us as fans felt after the Vandy whooping. It's time for a whole new vision of VT athletics.

despite the TSL staff and the majority of the fanbase very clearly seeing that the emperor has been nekkid for quite a while, the powers that be at VT (both admin and big donors) continue to be completely disconnected from reality. Yes, it is good to hear the quiet part said out loud, but I've yet to hear it said by anyone with the power to effect actual change.
VT football and VT athletic administration has not been this dysfunctional since the chaos of the late 80's, and unlike that miserable time, there has been no sudden event- no scandal, no probation, no countersuits between school and fired AD- that blew things up. It's been a slow train building negative momentum every year since the ODU debacle in 2018, and with each ratchet downward, there has been a collective shrug from leaders who should have had alarm bells ringing loudly in their offices. Acceptance of mediocrity is so ingrained in so many people that it will take years to reverse course, if it can even be reversed. Reach For Excellence? Nope. It's Go Along To Get Along.

there will be no change. If people keep spending their money the product must be satisfactory.

saying the quiet part out loud, change is usually around the corner. Maybe I'm wrong about that but they don't usually talk about these things and then nothing change. I would be surprised if Whit and Pry aren't gone by season's end.

By the media as some think... It's more what they feel on the inside, are willing to sacrifice $ wise and if the fan base is heading to the cassell with torches and rope.
The media will generally ape their audience and subscribers.
All that blah blah said I don't think a loss, close win or anything but ambulances carrying off ODUs team after the game will even dent quieting the village rioters

I'm not saying that TSL writers influence change. I'm suggesting that when they start to talk about change publicly, it usually means the sentiment among the power players is in favor of change. Again, I could be wrong -- but rarely are the TSL guys calling for change and then it doesn't happen. I think this is becasue they don't tend to over-react the way most fans do. So by the time things reach the stage of the TSL guys discussing change, I think it is usually a consensus view.
