Coaching question
Granted, the team just doesn't have much talent. However, the players we do have don't seem to be emotionally into the game. I think a great deal of coaching is psychology. How do you get the best from the players you have. I think Bud Foster's best asset was his ability to know how to inspire his players. He inspired the defense which in turn gave the program an image (a hard nosed physical team). We have no image. What kind of team are we and which of our coaches can inspire the players and create an image? Marve seems to be a feisty guy. I was hoping that he could do what Foster did, but I haven't seen it yet. Has anybody heard Marve or Bowen speak? Do they have what we need at this point?

been trying to establish for a year and 2 games now. If he keeps saying it one day it might come true.

Only running this team is doing is back to the locker room
All they know how to do is run away from a win

If I recall correctly Marve was probably the more “dynamic” speaker of the two, but I wouldn’t use that as a basis to determine their coaching ability. Both seem to appropriately answer questions posed by the audience, but there’s usually “coach speak” too.
This Fall Marve is scheduled to speak at the Sept 27 meeting and Bowen on October 18.

Difference. The players are inspired and you can see the defense maturing. Bud is retired.
