Good grief, winter temps are irrelevant.

What matters are fall temps and, once more despite the provincial narrative and anecdotal claims, Columbus, Ohio isn't markedly different from Blacksburg in Sept, Oct and Nov.: Blackburg Sept Hi 75 Lo 55 Oct Hi 66 Lo 44 Nov Hi 55 Lo 35 Columbus Sept Hi 76 Lo 57 Oct Hi 65 Lo 46 Nov Hi 52 Lo 37 More to the point, IMO the weather for VT's schedule isn't significantly different enough to to change schemes from what PSU ran. For home games, which you build your scheme around, the temps will be 4-5 degrees warmer than at PSU during the season. Colder? Yes. Enough to change what you do? Not really. PSU probably plays just 1 or 2 games in appreciably colder weather than what Blacksburg experiences at that same time of the year. ** Edited by marcbvtgm at 1/26/2026, 6:09:02 PM

Is the fall weather really that much worse in State College?
marcbvtgm 01/25/26 08:54 PM ET
All B1G cities are colder than Blacksburg except for the West Coast
Tuckahokie 01/26/26 08:47 AM ET
Incorrect. RU, IU, OSU, PU also are all similar to Blacksburg (or warmer.
marcbvtgm 01/26/26 12:13 PM ET
Columbus weather is as bad or worse than State College
Happy Dog 01/26/26 06:50 AM ET
Incorrect on Columbus weather; correct on the lack of impact on scheme

I lived in Columbus and E PA
Happy Dog 01/26/26 01:18 PM ET
Historical data says different. What does E PA have to do with anything?**

Correct on real question at hand. But a lot of B1G fall weather is like VT.

I can attest to Lansing

That offense will be our fatal flaw during the Spring Game.

Think of who else is in the B1G and it’s no contest

Sept/early Oct temps in many B1G sites aren't that different from ACC sites
marcbvtgm 01/26/26 06:42 PM ET
