I mean it's not as though my opinion meant anything to anyone that mattered at the time, but I honestly thought (and said as much at the time) the Marve hire and Pry's whole philosophical approach to year 1 was not only problematic with regard to the football program but also VT's larger aspirations with regard to the overall athletic program, conference affiliation in a changing era, revenue generation, etc. It was a dreadful decision - and it should have either been dis-abused by Whit Babcock or been disqualifying at the interview stage.
