There is a $20.5 million dollar cap for direct player payments that can come from the university, and every penny of that is going to be funded regardless. If ANYTHING, that $20.5 million will impact how much we can pay a coach, but the player funding will be maxed out regardless. Any additional player payments must be funded by private NIL collectives, and there are new guidelines that will require more scrutiny to discourage direct pay-for-play payments, and require legitimate business endorsements. It remains to be seen how the collectives will wiggle around those new rules. Lawsuits incoming no doubt. Having said that, with the new funding committmen from the Board of Visitors that came out last month, we will be near the top of the ACC, and probably top 20% in college football in what will be available for coaching salary.
