I don't know if building rosters around the climate of conference foes even

makes sense in today's college football. I think back in the day they actually did it and that's where the old 3 yards and a cloud of dust reputation that the BIG10 (midwestern schools in general) had before started. Now we see most of the really good BIG10 teams are built much like the other good/great teams in any other region in recent years...speed, spread O, RPOs, quick screens, huge WRs etc. Teams still run the ball, but few just line up in the I, option or wishbone. But Ann Arbor, Columbus, Madison, Lansing, Iowa City, Lincoln, Twin Cities and Chicago, in general, probably all experience worse winter weather that Rutgers/Maryland or Pitt/Boston.

Is the fall weather really that much worse in State College?

All B1G cities are colder than Blacksburg except for the West Coast
Tuckahokie 01/26/26 08:47 AM ET
Incorrect. RU, IU, OSU, PU also are all similar to Blacksburg (or warmer.

Columbus weather is as bad or worse than State College

Incorrect on Columbus weather; correct on the lack of impact on scheme

Good grief, winter temps are irrelevant.

I lived in Columbus and E PA
Happy Dog 01/26/26 01:18 PM ET
Historical data says different. What does E PA have to do with anything?**

Correct on real question at hand. But a lot of B1G fall weather is like VT.

I can attest to Lansing

That offense will be our fatal flaw during the Spring Game.

Think of who else is in the B1G and it’s no contest

Sept/early Oct temps in many B1G sites aren't that different from ACC sites
marcbvtgm 01/26/26 06:42 PM ET
Yes, it is actually
