I could be wrong but I believe that University wide fund raising
has been keeping independent athletic dept fun raising at arms length. Put another way, I believe the university wide academic and research has seen the athletic fund raising as more of a competitor for "Their" donors than they should.
So if (big IF) both sides are now working together and that competition is gone, then we have no real trend line to suggest what may happen. Stopping the in fighting is a strategy.
