schools playing away at smaller schools but, there is more involved than VT considering themselves second rate. IMO the missed opportunity for VT was scheduling as home and homes versus getting 2 for 1s and/or other additional considerations/contract concessions. Scheduling and all that it involves financially, logistically, etc. is a whole lot more difficult than just calling somebody up and saying let's play or in the case of schools of varying size the larger just saying you come here. I have always believed that is one of the more underappreciated things about the Weaver/Beamer pairing. Those guys were pretty good at balancing risk/reward. That is also one of the larger failings of the UVA athletic administration with respect to football.
