We were desperate to get out of that conference when the SEC looked at us and said "no thanks." We expended every bit of political (and every other) capital to get into the ACC when they were the highest paid conference. And then the UNC guy running the conference ran it into the ground. Now we're trying to finally recover from Frank's retirement, and so far our trajectory has been going one direction...down. We had Fu who was a good coach, but our athletic department sabotaged his program. Next we hired Pry, and he turned out to be a horrible coach. Great front man, but had no idea how to be a head coach. We can only hope the next hire will turn the ship around and start climbing our way back to relevance.
