I think toward the last several years the Pac 12 was already playing...
...Cal/Stanford and USC/UCLA on the Sat before Thanksgiving rather than Fri/Sat after. Might be a preference so students could attend before going home?
The other Pac rivalry games were definitely Thanksgiving weekend, though, so it had to be something specifically desired by the 4 Cali schools.

I would spread rivalries over the season. ACC should highlight one each
