to that. Looking around the stadium before kickoff, I guessed between 25,000 and 30,000. If you wanted to sit behind the VT bench you could have sat about anywhere you wanted. Probably less than 5,000 fans there, and behind the uva bench there were probably less than 12,000. The upper deck had a lot of Hokies in the end zone, but upper deck on the sidelines was sparse. I did not even see any fans outside the stadium selling tickets, so uva season ticket holders simply ate theirs. And by middle of the third quarter most of the uva fans were gone. By the fourth quarter there were only 2 areas that had any uva fans left. One area was their band, the other was the players' familes. Both of those groups had no choice but to stay, or they would have left too. That was one of the most enjoyable games I've ever seen. Go Hokies!
