VT went with an interesting lineup against Duquesne, but ultimately played the 4 returning players the most minutes. That's significant in that it shows MY might rely on those 4 more on the front end as the rest still adapt to learning where to be and the timing of everything. The others might be more talented in some areas and might give VT the best chance to win down the road, but the past tells us the returners will be leaned on heavily Possessions - like I said last week, the Duquesne game was played at an 82 possession pace...that won't be the case for standard VT games. Youll definitely see it among the early games as blowouts lead to high possession counts, but VT will want to start playing a little slower to prep for teams of higher caliber. They play a good one Saturday, so im betting even with a (hopefully) lopsided game, there will be an emphasis to slow down and run their stuff. That might also keep the margin closer so if VT doesnt win by 30 I wouldnt pull my hair out. My guess is the game is probably played between 70 and 75 possessions. Still way too high, but closer than the 82 from the exhibition
