Antonio Dorn...

I obviously don't have very much information to go on here, so a lot of this is opinion and speculative. From film, he looks pretty stiff as most 7 footers do, not a huge upgrade from that standpoint over Wessler. However, he seems to either have a great understanding of angles, positioning and awareness of the floor around him which is a huge positive from someone who will have 4 years of eligibility. OR He really takes coaching well and he is simply executing a gameplan. Both are good things for VT. His touch around the rim looks above average to very good. He looks like there is some capability to knock down a wide open 3 but I wouldn't be drawing up any plays for him to shoot them. I didn't see any passing highlights to warrant a comment but hopefully he is at least serviceable there. He saw a lot of 1-on-1 in the post in the highlights but I'm not sure of the context around that and whether it's due to the makeup around him or teams wanting to make him beat them thinking he can't. Regardless, he showed some flashes that you won't simply out-physical him on the block in a 1-on-1 matchup and there aren't any grown men in the college ranks who can handle a 22 year old physical post player on their own. I've talked about it below, but people need to understand how professional teams work overseas. Most leagues have roster limits that are different from anything in the US. You can only have 2 US-native (or non-native depending on the country) players on the roster You are allowed to have a certain number of amateur players on your roster that are nit compensated like everyone else. Dorn was not compensated. This is not the case where he was making money in Germany and VT outbid his program. He is undoubtedly going from making $0 (with likely his meals/housing comped) to making somewhere in the $200k to $250k range (or more if they had to overpay for other suitors ** Edited by GCHokie34 at 4/26/2025, 3:51:50 PM

History would indicate he’ll be here a year . 3 pro teams he’s been on
JackDSML 04/28/25 01:57 PM ET
I wouldn't extrapolate from that...

I’ll extrapolate based on his history . All pro A players are paid.

FWIW he had 6 3PA in 69 Games, seems to play w/ a mean streak which I like

Can we derive anything from his stellar (70%) field goal percentage?
YBYSAIAHokie 04/26/25 10:16 PM ET
I like that he has a decent jump hook

FG% can be skewed for physical post players...
GCHokie34 04/26/25 11:30 PM ET
If by chance, his number of shot attempts are skewed by getting fouled,
Hokie`79 04/27/25 08:45 AM ET
Pretty average, yeah**
