Izaiah Pasha was in the second tier of potential PG additions for me (behind Tier 1 of Wes Enis, but in the next tier of 4 PGs). At initial look, he provides quite a bit of value. His size, years remaining and scoring prowess all point to positive trajectory and an easier transition to VT. As a freshman, you want to see progress as they gain experience. Certainly, as transfers, younger players are going to be more volatile than veterans, so Pasha isn't going to be as finished of a product as say, a Storm Murphy, but there are key figures to look for that show the light started to come on as he gained experience. The thing that jumps out to me the most about Pasha is the consistency. Below are his point totals for the final 15 games of his freshman season this year. PTS 12 8 19 13 14 17 14 12 17 8 15 6 12 13 21 Only 1 game where he had less than 8 points. 12 of the 15 were double figures and 5 of the 15 he scored 15+. His usage rate was about in line with current VT PGs, though historically that usage has been lower at the position and the past 3 years have been closer to an aberration rather than the rule. That said, I don't think the usage will decrease enough that it would change his productivity a ton, and hopefully even improve his efficiency. Another positive sign for Pasha is his overall production and efficiency as he gained experience. For the whole season Pasha averaged: PPG - 11.9 APG - 3.9 TOV - 2.6 3PT% - 33.3% (1.7 attempts per game) For the final 15 games: PPG - 13.4 APG - 4.93 TOV - 2.06 3PT% - 42.8% (1.86 attempts per game) His production and efficiency increased even as there was more opportunity. He could theoretically play off the ball with Hammond, and depending on how VT fills out their wing spots, he might need to. However, my assumption is the staff adds 1-2 more wings, with one of them being a productive veteran and another being a longer term development. From a basic skill standpoint, Pasha is an above average athlete, good to great passer, a serviceable to good shooter who picks and chooses his shots and has growth potential to become a true threat in that aspect, above average understanding of the game and an average defender with measurables for growth on that end. I would view this addition as on par or better than the Hansberry addition and I really like what Hansberry brings and how he's developed (and the amount of development he can still achieve).
