FWIW...

I fully expect Lawal to declare for the NBA Draft to put his name in and gain feedback There will be a lot of anxiety-induced posts about waiting for him and holding a spot He almost certainly won't be drafted, he has almost 3x as many turnovers as assists at the 4 (which surprisingly is down from his 1:4 A:TO ratio from his first 2 years at VCU...so...good job?) and he's still learning the game. But if some team wanted to stash him in the G-League while he learned, it wouldn't be a terrible investment. I imagine VT will put together a competitive package for him, and they'll need another 4/5 anyway, so they should recruit as though there could be immediate playing time. Recruiting versatility, especially at the 5 spot, could help VT from being left without an option. I don't have any inside information, but I highly doubt Rechsteiner is back. If Hammond feels like he wants to test the market then possibly(?) but VT is probably better off letting him reset elsewhere. I would tell a couple others to kick rocks, but I'll let that one play out...I don't have any indication they are looking to push any others out My guess is VT will be looking to fill 5 open slots beyond the HS replacements for Poteat (Gurdak) and Burnham (Jones)

CMY better "push" some of these guys out. They are not ACC level players.**

ACC level is not a high bar anymore **

GC, any thoughts on how Rech was such a big eval miss by us and others?**
Femoyer Hokie 03/09/25 08:36 AM ET
I would view Rechsteiner as the offensive version of Bamisile

"VT as a whole needs to get better passing the ball"...Say it again.**

It’s catching too. Don’t recall many teams w/ such collective bad hands.**

GCHokie34 03/09/25 09:34 AM ET
Why do you think Rechsteiner will be moving on?
Walkin` Willie 03/09/25 08:12 AM ET
Because he can't guard anyone, turns it over at record rates, and doesn't
King of Hokies 03/09/25 08:29 AM ET
Yeah, but did you know his Dad is Scott Steiner?
