John Marshall of Richmond 2A seem to have an inordinate amount of large, tall skilled players who happen to live in their school districts yearly JM has 4 players 6’6- 6’9 as well as 4 more 6’3-6’4 in the 2nd smallest enrollment division. They are ranked #11 in the COUNTRY but playing in the same division as Radford, Floyd, Glenvar. JM won their regional championship game 118-59. Floyd Co won a fabulously competitive OT game vs 21-5 Nelson Co. It’s such a shame the VHSL is allowing this to happen (LCA in football too at 3A level). They stepped in and made Hayfield football ineligible when players followed their coach, but it’s a real shame kids at Radford (in past couple years), Gate City & now someone like Floyd or Graham of Bluefield are playing just to reach the finals only to travel to Richmond & lose by 40+ to JM at VCU…2 miles from JM’s school. Sad.
