That would leave only $5M for other sports. From there I assumed Whit/VT would want to provide some for other sports and made that estimation entirely on my own. I've now done a bit more research and found that it is publicly reported that VT basketball players are set to make about $230k each. I was off by about 15% on the high end of my estimate of $100-200k. Link is at the bottom. VCU players are set to make on average $300-380k compared to $230k on average for VT players. Here is one of many, many articles reporting that figure for VCU ($4-5M divided by 13 scholarships). This whole thread is regarding the $229M budget you alluded to, and the point is that doesn't affect the amount of revenue we can share with players. We could contribute $2 Billion to the athletic budget, and that won't change the max revenue sharing is $20M. Additionally, VCU could potentially contribute a full $20M into basketball revenue sharing if they want. VT has already promised $15M of the $20M to football, so we could only increase this marginally.
