For sure!
But it is more couched in something broader that actually helps lots of things and not just FTs
Its about efficient use of time and resources
So in the offseason you give the team a shooting or skills workout and the amount might vary based on where you are in the calendar
So in the offseason it will be something like:
1000 makes from 3
500 one dribble pull ups
250 floaters
Etc. Etc.
And in between each milestone you make 8 out of 10 FTs (or less if theyre especially lacking) or you have to make 10 more of the workout you were doing and try again
But during the season those numbers of shots to make will go down because its about refinement and not tiring yourself needlessly
So what a coach will is "you guys have the day off tomorrow which would be a good day to get your shooting workout in"
