IU has had some crazy efficient games, VT has only had one (St. Joes)
Indiana beat Marquette by 23, Kansas st by 17, Penn st by 42, Maryland by 18, and they beat their sub-300 opponents by FORTY.
Meanwhile their losses have come to teams ranked 12, 13, 15, 39, and 61 in TRank
VT on the other hand barely beats sub-300s teams by 20, and everyone else they beat by single digits, often times by one basket.
VT has losses to teams ranked 30, 35, 58, 64, and 69 in TRank
It blows my mind how week after week you can’t seem to figure out why Net ranks are the way they are. VT struggles against all teams but wins close games, Indiana loses to great teams and blows out average ones.

Would love to know from the NET defenders how to explain Indiana 38

It isn't about wins and losses. It's about efficiency.

The same reason they're #37 in KenPom and VT is #57.

The actual ranking doesn't matter very much.

They are way more efficient than us, if they keep losing it’ll correct

So “efficiently” winning vs bad teams or losing vs good teams is better

We do, the NET is a weighting of Team Value Index + Adjusted Net Efficiency

Probably so they can adjust it if teams game it, it’s way better than RPI
