The RPI was incredibly easy to game and the only thing that mattered was wins and losses. It was quite easy to mask a bad team behind a schedule that resulted in a high RPI. The Net ranking components are very easy to understand. Efficiency is just OPPP - DPPP adjusted for home/away and strength of opponent (I would bet they index for average efficiency and use that as a multiplier) The team value index probably just awards point values to wins and losses based on the same adjustment they use for efficiency.
