It’s UConn not Purdue so the big is Donovan Clingan, but…

… the answer would be the same. For guys like that in good offenses when you play off of them they get them the ball quickly and take it to a ball-screen/hand-off where now, because the defender is so deep you’re at risk of giving up a three or going over the top and having guys have a two on one advantage with a head of steam going toward the rim. UConn is particularly adept at recognizing when people play off of their bigs and attacking and even trying to force teams to play normal help off and then skipping the ball to the big and chasing a shooter off.
