Or maybe random variation happens and we don't always know reason for differences Also, consider that attempts is maybe not the best stat for your argument...wouldn't just fouls be better? Home we have committed an average of 17.6, opponents 17.9 Away, we have committed an average of 16.9, opponents, 14.6 So +0.3 vs. -2.3, not accounting for late-game intentionals...so it's something less than a 2.5 foul/game difference. Even if that's purely attributable to refs, nefarious or unintentional, I'm not losing sleep over a couple fouls/game.
