Think about why dribble penetration hurts...it collapses a defense and makes it more difficult to defend all passing lanes out of the paint plus defend the ball from scoring. A zone *might* make dribble penetration more difficult in theory (I'd argue it doesnt because you still have to defend the person with the ball 1-on-1) but it makes it WAY easier to get into the paint with the pass. The pass is exponentially easier to get into the paint vs a zone than driving vs man. And they both accomplish the same thing. So no, it wouldn't erase the issue because driving the ball isn't the issue, it's the ball in the paint at all that's the issue
