When Tech went into the Temple game in the tournament
Al Young was unable to play and Bobby Beecher could barely walk and Perry Young and Tim Lewis miss practice and can’t start. Young was leading scorer and rebounder and a senior. 🤦♂️
Moir was soft and didn’t use timeouts to stop a run. That sounds familiar in our current situation.
Maybe you’re right about Moir speaking out of turn about PY but everyone at dinner had a connection to the team albeit mine admittedly was not as a VT employee. Coach was asked and he let it fly. It was brief but he was visibly frustrated. I think it had built up over time.
Moir was a winner wherever he went and won a natty at Roanoke. Broke the racial barrier at RC with Frankie Allen as the first AA at ‘Noke. He had his flaws for sure but the Cassell was never louder than it was for the Hurryin’ Hokies.
Truth is had Devoe not flirted with Ohio State Moir may not have ever coached at VT. When he passed there were many former players there and Wayne Robinson preached his eulogy. He was pretty well thought of by his players.
